ON DAYS LIKE THIS…

Why do I feel the whole world is out on a mission to irritate the hell outta me?

Why do people on MSN like to make stupid comments whilst I am in the midst of my work?

(Edited: Just after the post was posted up…. the epitome of irritants delivered exactly the above!)

Why do I have to meet people I would detest(no, I don’t believe in hate) with a passion? I wish I can sneak away to cover some event, do some research on my next article, instead on spending time on mindless meetings like this.

Why do I feel everything is not up to MY standards?

Why do I feel I am belittled by everyone?

Why do I feel so bloated and fat?

Why do I feel like sticking my claws into others’ faces in return to their bitchiness?

Why do I feel so guilty about over eating yesterday?

Why do I feel like a sulkish prune.

So irritating, you know?

Thanks hormones, you are so kind to me. You make me feel so utterly brilliant about myself.

WORK IN YET ANOTHER WEEK

I finally reached home ‘early’ today. 8.15pm.

I even got my armpit hair plucked!

Now, I yearn for a nap… which probably would take me away from consciousness for 4 hours, before I wake up in the middle of the night, blog, and sleep thereafter.

I am tired, thus, I am not sure what I am typing either.

Before that, just a quick one about work.
Monday - Nick picked me up to head for Sim Lim for lunch in the afternoon. Darn. It stormed and I was stuck for a while before he could send me back to the office.

Meeting in the afternoon, before another meeting took me away.

I was peeling an orange right after the first meeting, when I was called to another meeting.

I left my naked orange on a piece of paper, and ran into the conference room.

Boss needed a 3 minutes break cos he had a tummy upset, and I happily rescued my orange from solitude into the conference room, drawing curious stares from fellow colleagues.

I will have a wider circumference of work to cover hereforth, much of which I am pretty glad, cos I would be given more freedom in what I would like to have in the magazine and webby in time to come.

And.. I have quite an exciting idea up my sleeve, that would include my group of asswipe pals… so, yeap.

Anyway, by the time both meetings finished, it was already offwork time.

I met up with VampTreSS at Miss Clarity cafe, and was later joined by Max, Bibi, Boon, Brian, Joo Yau, Nick, Tan and uh, his Genie in a bottle Jeannie.

Something is happening in a bottle. Hurhurhur.

It was one of those lame meet-ups. I wonder why do they enjoy asking ‘Say, die die you have to do someone in the group, who would it be?’ . But I think I know the answer. Cos it is always cool to see your guy pals cringing when they slurred the answer to which guy in the group they would poke.

It was Battlefield 2 thereafter with Boon, Brian, and VampTreSS.

It wasn’t until 3 before we headed home.

A short phone call with SBB till 4 before I finally fell asleep… until I slurred through an entire conversation when he called again at 5 plus.
Tuesday.

Meeting with yet another sponsor in the afternoon. Aljunied.

Max called, and he was just nearby my office.

I met up with him and chatted about work stuff at Cafe Cartel, Raffles City.

Back to office to rush for another appointment in Suntec.

Boss drove us down.

And it lasted for blardy 3 hours!!!

Back to office when it was already 7pm.

Contemplated on having dinner with colleagues.

Raf’s birthday. She had spoke of how her boyfriend was sent offshore that very morning. Last minute.

She was nearby and we decided to meet up at Chijmes. She turned up only 25 minutes later though she was just across the road!!

But, birthday girl is queen, and the lovely generous one insisted on buying Reena(Feroz’ sister) and I dinner.

Dinner was a sumptuous meal of Spanish Tapas(ahem, Spanish), and we had a whale of a time catching up and goofing around the entire evening.

Though I was darn tired and had reminded SBB to remind me to head home by 9.30pm….. I didn’t head home until it was 1am.

Ahhh.. I can never keep to my schedule at all. :(

We were hit on by this trio of US Marine Corps(who disrupted our cosy ladies’ night out. Argh!), AND Reena hit it off well with one of the others…. AND that led to the ladies adjourning to Insomnia(where there wasn’t ANY eye candy), AND that led to me heading home late despite leaving ‘early’.

Spoke to SBB till it was 3 before I took a 6-hours rest.

Wednesday.

Met up with Mr Anonymous Y at the Japanese restaurant SBB and I went to couple of weeks back.

The talk with Max, Danny and him, seemed to push me to put much things into actions.

Heard quite a scandalous rumour about a colleague of mine, which made me….. raise a brow high.

Went for an appointment thereafter, where I was made an offer I almost couldn’t refuse.

Reason being, it is the first time, I feel like being pursued and it was some sort of recognition.

I called up the asswipes, and in my usual panicky self, I went ‘I need to talk! Make yourself present now!!!’

VampTreSS made her way down since it was near her place, Nick joined slightly later, Roy and Max came later.

All listened to my senseless talks until all came to the conclusion that my headache wasn’t really a headache.

Max kindly offered to send me home and we ended up chatting for quite a while at the lobby’s bench.

You see.. when I am confused, my friends suffer.

Today. Thursday. I slept 5 and half hours.

I splurged on a cab to head down to Orchard to meet Bernice.

Meeting.

I like the sponsors. They were really nice. I saw a pair of bluetooth headphones which are darn sleek, darn pretty, darn cool.

You could use them to listen to your MP3players, you could use them whilst gaming, and when a phone call comes in, you could use it to answer your phone while you are gaming/listening to music!

But that would make me 330 bucks poorer.

I am still sane, and thus, didn’t splurge.

Lunch with Bernice. Took a bus back to office.

Barely stepped into office and the editor for the magazines asked me if I would be free to check out the costumes I wanted for my next shoot.

We walked to Peninsula. Up the entire building. Zilch.

Walked from there, to Beach Road. Ouch. In heels.

Good news. Costumes will be loaned to us FOC!

Went to Bras Brasah. Up the entire building.

Roamed around the shops to look for something the editor needs. Nothing.

Walked the way back from there to office. I got sunburnt.

Ouch.

When I finally thought I could sit down…..

I was called to join the editor for a press event. It was storming. We took brollies and braved the rain.

No cabs.

Call for a cab? We were put on hold for 253873624 hours and there was still no one attending to our calls.

At 5pm on a stormy evening, what do you expect?

Walk there, he suggested.

From there, to Oriental Hotel.

It wouldn’t normally be a problem for me, but when I was trying hard not to fall with shaky heels on wet ground….. those blisters on my feet weren’t helping. Ah well.

It was half past 7 when I finally took a train ride home.

I even managed to catch the last part of American Idol results show.

Cool.

I must be really tired.

I really am not talking sense!

NAME A PRICE

Sorry for the lack of updates.

Been awfully busy for the past few days.

I don’t know.

I am PMS-sy with painful boobs. Long time no so painful already.

PMS is no good. Especially when you have stress piling on you and you wonder when you are going to collapse.

I just ended a long talk with Max.

I had a long talk with VampTreSS.

I had a talk with SBB.

I practically talked to everyone.

I am confused.

I am contemplating on quitting my job. Actually, only 30% of me feels like doing so. Reluctance outweighs the willingness.

I do not want to abandon a project I am working on right now on my current job cos I do want to see it to the peak, and give my best.

So soon, you ask?

Why, you ask?

Well, when a company tells you they are eager to hire you, they can’t match the job satisfaction your current job is giving you, yet they are willing to compensate for it… what do you do?

Will I able to buy you over? Name me a price that you want. Think it through.’

I never even would think that way of myself. Ever.

Even twice what my company is offering me? Even thrice? Possibly.

What puzzles me, is why would anyone think that way of me enough to make such an offer?

I have no idea.

And thus, as tempting as it seems, the next 21 hours will be dealing with my inner struggles and high-speed thoughts.

OF FAST BOYS & GORGEOUS GIRLS

What a start to the MotoGP season.

Gorge(it is pronounced as ‘hhor-teh’) Lorenzo claimed the 250cc 1st position, yay.

Pedrosa put on a tough fight on his MotoGP class debut, and had pressured the veteren, Loris Capirossi throughout the race. Loris hung on tight, and won the race. Nonetheless, a magnificent debut by the Spanish rookie.

Nicky managed to hold off Toni Elias(hubba! hubba!) for the 3rd place, and Toni managed his best position yet with his new factory bike.

Yummy, yummy. And it’s his 23rd birthday.

And in a dramatic lift of curtains to the season, Valentino Rossi crashed out at the first lap of the first race after Toni Elias had hit him, and he returned to race with a broken brake lever, determined to complete the race.

He had this to say about the birthday boy, ‘I have known for many years and he is a good rider. He apologised to me after the race and I told him not to worry - only to remember to brake next time and if it is too late then to hit another bike instead of me.’

He finished 14th, though. And his arch nemesis, Sete Gibernau, continued his string of bad luck brought forth from last year, and had technical failures yet AGAIN, and retired early in the race despite being one of the forth runners.

And this season looks darn promising to be the most exciting one as yet.

***

Yay. I did everything I had planned to do today, and even sent out the emails to the IT show babes to finally get the pictures to them.

Man, when Khalid suggested to have Master Procrastinator printed on my namecard, I am sure he wasn’t joking.

***

And time to wake the yawning guys up. Who would be interested in my talks about MotoGP riders, unless they are fans of the sport themselves, yuh?

Fret not, it is time for me to post the long-awaited pictures from IT show, yes, the one I have procrastinated for the longest time.

The 4 days were precious. I met plenty of gorgeous babes with awesome characters, who made the whole gig a breeze.

Their working attitudes deserve a big thumb’s up.

I struggled the 4 days on heels, meeting many people I haven’t met for the longest time.

I started every of those 4 days makeupless, cos I needed Vamp’s help with the makeup to transform the hideous sleepy monster to a GP battery girl.

Bleah.

On the first night, I was too tired to even think, yet I went to chill at Wala Wala with FF, Tetanus, Re-minisce, and Wallflower.

On the second night, a Friday, I chilled at East Coast over a nice, grilled dinner with Harry, Vamp, Roy and Nick, before Mindy, Nick, Brian and I had coffee. Nick sent me home thereafter.

On the third night, I had dinner at Lavender Foodcourt, where I saw a character who looked suspiciously like Mr Miyagi and his beau.

On the final night, I had chicken rice with the rest of the guys to wrap the day up, before Vamp, Roy and I adjourned to Mr Bean for coffee till midnight.

And it was back to the office for me on Monday.

Work the entire week, except for Saturday.

But hell, who wants to hear about all these right? Cos everyone wants pictures!

On the first day, I got myself acquainted with this gorgeous, spunky half New-Zealander, half Chinese babe, Marilyn. It is an absolute pity that she wasn’t around on the last day of the IT show for me to take a picture with. I like her bubbly attitude, and she is darn gorgeous in an exotic way.

Fortunately, I was fast enough to get her number on the very first day, so it would mean that I would have means to reach her if we have jobs for shows in the future. Yay.

For this show, it was also quite an amazing feat, not only because I was doing a favour for Uncle Roy -coughcheapcough-, but also because how on the evening of my interview with my present company, I was asked if I was able to arrange for girls for the IT show.

So, for their budget, and for their requirements, we arranged for a few girls to come down for casting at my company, and finally got it together by the time IT show started.

I met a lot of old friends at the IT show, like Mingyang, on the first day, and Zhan Sheng, on the third.

Quite sadly, when Zhan Sheng had messaged me, I clumsily deleted the message before I could even read it, or saved the message.

And now, sigh, I lost touch with him yet again.

Mingyang and Zhan Sheng were our NCO when we were secondary 3. But, ahem, I am surprised what time has done to them.

Hehehehe.

Over the 4 days, the bunch of fun-loving, smiley babes never failed to perk me up, and made the whole experience so much easier one to bear.

I think the one I have to thank the most, is actually Cindy darling.

She has been the one who had been the most encouraging, and was very responsible with her job too.

The confident lass impressed me as we went around giving out brochures, and she was standing by some booth when some people had mistook her to be a Starhub promoter instead.

When questions were thrown at her, she reacted, took on the part immediately, and answered the customers professionally, and told them which packages to sign on for whichever promotions, when it wasn’t even her job to do so.

Our feet were killing us, and without the usual prissy attitude you would find in most girls, she gamely took off her heels together with me when we were going up the escalator to go back to our booth.

So glamourous huh!

I like spontaneous babes like her. -Beams-

On the first day, we were going around the 4th floor, where I saw this poster….

It is Roberto!

As we were checking out the OSIM stuff, someone came up to us to ask us about the price of UZap, mistaking us to be OSIM promoters. As usual, we did our part and told them the price instead of telling them that we weren’t promoters of OSIM.

Mr Ron Sim should get us to be his promoters instead.

Kenny, can you draft out a letter for me, too?

We were actually standing in front of the OSIM small booth when a bunch of photographers came up to us to take pictures of us, and a bunch of Finnish exchange students followed suit. He’s quite cute, isn’t he?

I later saw the bunch of them again, and they asked if we would be free for Sentosa on Saturday, which sadly, we weren’t able to make it.

On the first day, I was browsing some cameras when I felt a warm, nice cuddle from the back.

It was actually Filicia, again!

Whee!
She eased off the tension I gotten from a stalker, Mr G-roh(zero), who had used the cheesiest pickup line ever invented.

And when I say we should really be OSIM spokespersons, I meant it.

Nothing is more heavenly than to be sitting in those things, and had our feet massage by the iSqueeze when you had been tortured by those darn heels for hours/days.

Over the next few days, we built up friendships with other girls(I was perhaps the auntie amongst them!), comparing ‘prices’ and also getting shot by hobbyist photographers. Many of whom are from Clubsnap, and some of them came across as rather sleazy.

Some of them were nice enough to email us the pictures, which I was immensely grateful of.

After the first day of IT show, Vamp decided I had smiled too much, and told me to cut the smiles on pictures.

When Mamasan sends the decree, I could only follow.

Here are some of them:

Even the little one followed me to maxmise the use of our lips. Did I mention how thick and sexy Cindy’s lips are?
We then goofed for the camera… looking totally unglam.

That darling is so sweet to work with, cos few girls would be willing to appear like this on pictures.

My favourite gotta be this one.

The girl has a nice smile.

On the last day, we went around taking pictures with some of the people we have grown acquainted with.

Like the 2 little chaps from Compaq.

The broody Eugene.

And the baby-faced ‘Chucky’ or so I called him.

They are almost young enough to be my dad’s grandsons.

I am so freaking old.

My Saturday was made so much sweeter, when my darling god-daughter Rena, made her first trip to town with her parents.

I wished I could bring her around to give out those flyers. She is such an utter sweetheart, and she smells so nice!

Aww…

Though I have no idea why she pointed at my boobs throughout when I carried her.

Vamp treated the Lenovo girls to coffee on the last day for their hardwork. Za wasn’t around, and thus, it was only 4 of us(plus Cindy and I).

Kelly and Regina, who were the center of attention throughout the IT show.

As we sat around, Miss Vamp insisted on taking candid shots(read: unflattering) shots of us and we had an enjoyable afternoon during lunch laughing ourselves silly over all the ugly shots.

When we were asked to ‘act sexy’(which is Vamp’s favourite command), only 3 of us could manage with some goof before Regina broke into perils of laughters.

Then, we were told to act cute.. which surprisingly, I didn’t:

I think the 2 of them would be more convincing as cutie pies, not me.

Finally a proper one where all of us were smiley! Yay.

But still, Miss Vamp didn’t like my smile, and prefers this(yes, this is her favourite picture of us):

I think VampTreSS is evil, she doesn’t like me to be happy.

I want to protest. Why Cindy and I weren’t given the help of oomphf oomphf paddings like the Lenovo girls?!

Hmphf.

We look totally flat besides them.

Just before the last day ended, we went to take some pictures of people I totally adore.

We stopped by the Lenovo booth first, before advancing to look for the girls we had in mind.

Well, no surprises there, the photographer was at it giving funny instructions to us again. It wasn’t ‘act cute’. It was actually, ‘act sexy’.

The Lenovo and the GP girls, the girls under -cough- Mamasan Vamp for the IT Show.

Mamasan Vamp decided to crop away our unsightly bulging tummies.

Us, with Za’s beau to mark the last day of our work at the IT show.

Thanks girls, it had been a pleasure and breeze to be working with you all. We owe you girls one for the great work done.

My favourite girls at the IT show was a tie between the Logitech girls, and the Canon girls.

All the bubbly sweet young things.

That’s Victoria, Clara and I.

If you are wondering, yes, I marked the pictures, just in case some people might rip it for other purposes.

I remember how Clara had refused some photographers’ requests to have her pictures taken, and I promised her these pictures would be for my personal use only, so I would appreciate if you guys would respect her privacy so as not to use it or post it up anywhere else.

Victoria was by the escalator most of the time, and I would always walk past her when we moved up and down to the 4th floor.

I saw Clara moved around a lot, and she was one of the sweetest I have seen around the entire hall.

From the way I swoon about all the girls, it is a matter of time I would be mistaken to be a perverted lesbo, which I am, ahem, not going to deny.

Muahahaha. Joke, okay, joke.

Finally, we stopped by the Canon booth with the adorable 3 lasses, Vernice, Hui Si, and Charlotte. I had a very deep impression of Charlotte since the very first day, though she was probably the one the guys would least remember.

Cindy was too readily acting cute, and we had to remind her the first picture is always the proper one.

So, it was take 2.

Miss Mamasan said, ‘Beware of the arms, and… 1, 2, 3… SUCK IN!!’

Cindy, Hui Si, Vernice, Charlotte and the auntie of the group, me.

Hui Si is impossibly demure-looking, almost like those you would find in those Chinese novels.

Vernice is the cutie pie of the group, and somehow, I feel Charlotte to be of most character. Something about her that is really intriguing.

And Mamasan Vamp ordered, ‘Act CUTEEEEE’.

And we did.

Alas, Hui Si had to get back to work, and left the other 2 with us.

Pout and be sexy!!

Alas, the goofballs fell about laughing and decided we are never gonna be sexy enough.

Finally, I got these up, and sent the pictures to the girls as well.

So now, now.

Get a tissue for the drool, noseblood, and… er, other things I want to know not about.

LONDON, LONDON.

After sleeping for 10 plus hours till 5pm on a Saturday, the last thing you would expect yourself to do is to fall asleep in front of the telly before 1am, and wake up 12 and half hours later on Sunday.

Yes, exactly what Miss Ting did.

I am sure as hell I am fully charged for the week. I hope.

I did my light laundry last night, and hope to do the dark laundry today after the light ones dry. Then, I really need to vacuum the floor and give it a good mop. Uhm, the bedsheets? Oh, the bathroom too. Ahh.. so many to do, so little time. MotoGP also starting today you know?

And.. gravity makes my boobs hurt. I think I am PMS-sy. -big sulk-

I stayed back in the office till 9 on Friday, and finally uploading one article. But the website is so dead that my role is now to revive it.

How do you do CPR to a dead person? No help, no shock paddles….

And I have a feeling that whatever come from me would not be read, and ended up as a wasted effort.

I decided to walk down from City Hall to Orchard, where I was supposed to meet the guys at 11pm.

Just as I was strolling past Cathay, Harry asked if I needed a lift later, and I said that I was already walking down. He then said he was having coffee at Mr Bean, which was a stone throw away.

I needed to find some place to fill up my forms anyway, and thus, met up with Harry at Mr Bean.

Shortly after, Taka called to ask if we guys would be Battlefielding, cos he was at Paradiz Kbox singing karaoke. We have stopped playing at Parklane for the longest time, but I told him I was just across the street, and asked him over to join us.

He did, and the 2 guys launched into a solemn mode, speaking topics that bored me.. I mean, the last thing you want after a week of work, is to hear people talking about work and how to succeed in a particular field, no?

VampTreSS called to say she would be delayed cos she needed to drop by her brother’s school, and I told her we weren’t too far away from her.

In fact, it was less than a minute’s walk to get to her brother’s school, where I met up with her to take a cab down to Orchard’s PartyWorld KTV thereafter.

Harry’s friend, Andy, joined us slightly later, then Kelvin, Boon, Nick and Max joined us consecutively.

Most of them aren’t really into singing… and were sitting around talking most of the time.

We adjourned to Bencoolen prata shop post KTV and sat around doing the usual coffeeshop talks till it was past 5 in the morning.

Harry offered me a lift, and since he was tired, we left the guys earlier though I had hoped to stay a little while longer.

As we were walking towards his bike, I saw the familiar face of darling Raf, whom I had not seen for almost 4 months!

We squealed in excitement till the whole coffeeshop was staring at us. Girls, behave.

I would have loved to stay for a little while.. but it wasn’t nice to keep Harry waiting, and I left.

Got home, showered, chilled, relaxed, and surfed, before the computer screen was fuzzing out, and everything around me was dancing in my vision.

It was 5 when I finally greeted the day, and man, was that the greatest feeling ever.

***

It would have been his 25th birthday, yesterday.

If only what happened on the 10th July didn’t happen.

***

I woke up, and stared at the 2 movie passes given to me a year and half ago, and are expiring in 6 days’ time.

I was supposed to meet a colleague for a movie on Friday night, cos the sponsors had given away free tickets, but he was caught up with a meeting, and had wanted to give me the tickets to watch alone.

I ended up trying to upload the page(I realised the problem I facing was because the console doesn’t work on Firefox *!@#$%^&*&^%$), and missed the timing for the movie instead.

Last year, I watched a grand total of 4 or 5 movies, one of which in Malaysia, one of which was free tickets from Jiali, one at Cathay Cineleisure, so I didn’t get to use the movie passes for Golden Village.

Somehow, I have to utilise it, and I dragged my butt off the bed and left home for Jurong Point at 6pm.

***

Was having a smoke break with my colleague, Eugene, the other day, and he mentioned how he missed Canada, whilst out of nowhere, I spilled, ‘I miss London.

I do, I really do.

In fact, I had thought of giving myself a break by going overseas for a month or two this year, just to experience life.

Until, this job robbed me of the potential plans(and I almost blardy forgot that the first MotoGP race starts, -gasp- today!) of running away.

Oh well.

When I stepped into the cinema with a set of McSpicy meal sitting comfortably in my Xbox 360 bag, and sat myself down comfortably with occasional odd stares from others for watching a movie all by myself, I had no idea what the movie was going to be about.

I don’t like to go into a cinema knowing what the storyline is, you see.

But seeing a few people putting V for Vendetta as their MSN nicknames, many of whom are people with exquisite tastes, so I wouldn’t expect it to be a disappointment.

And now, let’s just say though the film has its imperfections, I have made it one of my favourite films nonetheless.

From the cinematography, to the actors.. to the music.. I adore it.

I feel a great temptation to shave my head bald thereafter seeing how delicious Natalie Portman looks with her new style. Heh.

And… it roused my longing for London with the British accents carried by the casts.

The pleasant surprise came in when one of my favourite actors, Stephen Fry, came on set.

For those unfamiliar with Stephen Fry, he was actually the actor who starred as Oscar Wilde, in the movie, Wilde.

And I would never have known who he is, if not for my time in London.

He is an absolutely brilliant actor.

The even more pleasant surprise came when I realised the actor behind the mask of V in V for Vendetta whom we do not get to see throughout the film, is actually Hugo Weaving when the credits rolled.

I once blogged how Agent Smith slow, draggy drawl in Matrix had made my panties moist. And how I had watched Lord of the Rings for not only Orlando Bloom, but the Elf’s leader, Elrond too.

And this time, in threatrical Brit drawl, and lengthy, passionate, dramatic speeches, it is not hard to fall in love with the man behind the mask.

I didn’t even think that the man with the nice bod and is darn charismatic is actually Hugo Weaving.

And when I realised he is Hugo Weaving.. my heart flutters even more.

Awwww….

Uhm, yeah, let’s just say my taste for men is rather uncomprehensive at times.

I got home by 9 in the evening, and received a call from VampTreSS at 10, cos she had wanted to alert me about the movie on television - The Hours.

It was yet another British-related movie, about the ill-fated female writer, Virginia Woolf.

And it was in London, when Anna, my then host, had introduced this author to me.

I was intrigued by her, since then.

And I was always reminded of her, as of how Vincent Van Gogh does.

Both movies are thought-provoking, with the genius play of words, and impactful characters.

Yes, I would love to go back to London again.

With a totally different perspective, different agenda, different outlook on life, and expecting a new experience in life.

I don’t know why, but the urge is becoming stronger each day that I would want to run away.

To somewhere, only we know.

FRIDAY, THE ONE BEFORE

I am one less virgin. I finally got my paws on the Xbox today, and man, did I excel in it. I beat my gamemaster in the first few sets of Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate, which was my first ever attempt on the console.

Eventually, we stayed back a little post working hours, just to spar on further. I was once leading by 6-2 out of 8 sets(win 2 rounds to win a set), until it was 9-7, and he caught up to 9-9. The last set, we were 1-1 for the rounds, and I lost the him terribly at crunch point.

We played blardy 19 rounds!!

He finally was satisfied enough to stand up from his seat and head home.

Now, I got a terribly sore thumb.

Went lunch with him today and I realise what a miser I have become.

I even skipped canned drinks, so I could save more. I would even eat things I wouldn’t normally order cos the food in the food court is so blardy expensive.

Basically, I am very broke.

Like last Friday, I went for a meeting today(I didn’t expect to be going for one today, else I wouldn’t be in tee, jeans, specs, sans makeup, hair bunned up like an old maid) looking totally like shit.

It was good for me to be out of office, before one of the people we are working with(not necessarily colleagues) drive us crazy.

We met up to liase for an event venue, and with Boss around, everything seems to work so much smoother and easier with his ties. He, indeed is a rather impressive man. But still, I don’t really like to talk to him, perhaps because I always feel that it might either come across as ‘hey hey, I am doing work you know?’ or I might be mistaken to be some bootlicker.

I don’t like office politics, I don’t have to say it again.

Got back to the office and tried out the Xbox. The Xbox has been right next to me for the longest time, but since I had never confronted a console game set before, the lack of familiarity put me off.

Ah well.

I tried uploading some pictures for my articles, but it was giving me darn load of problems that I am pretty fed up. Yet, I refrain from asking for too much help cos I know they are much more overloaded than I am. You see, we each have our roles, and I can only step in when they had finished theirs.

I did ask some of their opinions, and most had agreed that I should not post up anything as yet. Though I know, this is not what some others agree upon.

Oh well.

***

Did I say I am very broke? But I just bought a bottle of Baron and a bottle of Jack Daniel’s Cola for 2 of my colleagues who are slogging in the office, doing overtime to speed things up a little.

I got back to the office and filled my bottle with plain water.

I must remind myself that I am very very very very very very very very very broke. But I think they are really packed and since they are very nice guys themselves, I guess it’s worth it, yuh?

Hang in there. Another week to go. Before I would become, brokener.

***

With tongue in cheek, I drafted a silly news release and sent it to my colleagues by email.

I am not so sure if this is a good enough place to be making it an open letter, but I decided against it after serious considerations.

I think I really need a password-protected blog.

***

Last Friday, was pretty interesting.

I had went for a meeting, and had decided to look a tad more professional. I donned my black pencil skirt, and the black shirt SBB seems to adore.

People tend to think that I look absolutely fierce and bitchy in all-black executive gear.

Alas, I have no black shoes, and I put on my dreaded pair of black high heels.

The horrendous pair that would threaten to tear my feet apart, or perhaps, cut the blood circulation to my feet, and they would drop off by themselves.

VampTreSS picked me up by cab, and we headed down to where Robert’s shop is, before he drove us down to East Coast for the IT show’s gig wrap dinner at Hawaiian Grill, yet again.

My feet hurt from the heels.

Alas, Cindy wasn’t able to join us, and we headed down together with Weipeng, Leslie and wife, Yvonne and Robert, Roy and Vamp, Harry, and another staff.

My feet hurt from the heels.

They were talking about topics of absolute bore, and I wonder what time the others would be joining us for coffee.

My feet hurt from the heels.

We stayed around East Coast for coffee when Kelvin, Brian and Mindy arrived, and I quickly snuck away to head off to Coffee Bean with them instead of staying behind with the overaged group. Muahahaha.

My feet hurt from the heels.

Nick joined. Boon joined. My cousin Jianmin joined. Harry’s friend ‘Cai lao ban’ joined. We were just checking out every single being with a vagina there, bitching about their oddly-shaped boobs, elephant-legs, gorgeous butts, pretty faces… and yeah, just being us.

My feet hurt from the heels, did I mention that?

The evil Mindy and Brian gave me an ouchie when they mercilessly caught my big toe between their shoes and crushed it. I don’t think they like my big toe too much.

I was growing increasingly tired and could hardly concentrate. We adjourned over to McDee’s after some of them had left, which left only me and some of the guys.

I was slowly, getting sleepy, and gradually, getting lethargic…. and was definitely, tormented by my heels.

It was then, the crazy idea sprung up at 3am in the morning.

The guys, wanted to go to… TRAIL.

Yes, night trailing on their scramblers.

Crazy, or what?

Though I was too dazed, I actually agreed to their atrocious suggestion. Alas, when I was about to get on the bike, my pencil skirt was too stubborn to give in.

Uh oh. Not very good idea huh?

So…………. within 10 seconds, at the back of Kelvin’s car, I stripped.

Muahahaha.

Before I stripped:
Gee, and the after!

I changed into his gym gear. Army shorts, a tee, and a slightly oversized pair of slippers!

I think executive suck the energy out of me and leave me drained. The moment I got out of the gear, I was totally bouncy and energetic in my new gear!

Harry gave me a lift on his bike, and we headed to Fort Road, into the construction site where we thought would lead us to where it was ‘trailable’. I was still hoping to get my hands on the bike, ya know?

We then realised we couldn’t go in, and then decided to park the bike by the side, and went for a walk instead.

The bunch of crazy monkeys!

Whee! So fun yuh?

Executive-turned-auntie:
It looks super-imposed, doesn’t it? But it isn’t, and I thought it is quite a nice background when we had reached the end of the dark, deserted pavement, which led us to the breakwater of the river.

Stunning sight, it was, under the flyover.

We tried convincing the other to join us for the picture, and the end result is a hilarious, cos we had to stand still for 30 seconds, holding the same expressions so the night mode and opened shuttle could capture us.

And yes, can you find Boon’s head in front of Kelvin’s chest on the extreme left?

Bah. I think I am the only one who could stay in that position and smiled for that long. Or should I say my cousin and I were the only silly mules who smiled and stayed that way for the entire 30 seconds. We were standing on this slope that led us to the waters, and we had a hard time balancing as well.

We chilled by the river for almost an hour, before calling it a night.

They sent us back to East Coast for Kelvin to collect his car, and since Harry was leaving straight from Fort Road, my chauffeur was thus changed to Boon. That man has got a small butt.

Nick, Kelvin, Boon and I headed back to East Coast to collect Kelvin’s car. They then very nicely offered to send me back home from East Coast, and leave their bikes in East Coast so we could all take
