HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY - PART I

Be warned.

From this post forth, all posts will be image-intensive. I think I am so late with my posts that I have almost 100 pictures loaded, but not yet posted.

But I am sorry that the pictures of the IT show babes might have to wait.

I have too much deadlines too meet, and I have to rush them right after I am finish with showering this neglected space a little tender, loving care.

And that’s why, this has to come in parts. Mutilated and chopped up.

How grisly.

***

It is a devastating sight everyday when I return to home.

Clothes strewn all over the tiles in the living room, result of a weird habit of mine. I remove my clothes the moment I remove my shoes.

And my bad back refuses to give in to bend down.

I don’t even have the time to shave my armpits, you know?

Good thing is, office wear always have them covered.

***

I brewed new vices I never had before I started working.

Okay, not really.

Lust, alcohol, nicotine, and my newest vice, caffeine.

Yah, I am more much lusty after I am tormented by stress.

And strangely, though not a fan of alcohol, I had drank beer for the past 2 nights, uhm, albeit unwillingly. The slightest bit worked its magic on me.

I am a new fan of black coffee, after not drinking them since I was 18, which resulted in an excruciating bout of anxiety attack.

I limited my coffee to half a cup, cos I drank an entire cup on my birthday, and I thought I was high on drugs or something, getting all jittery and restless, with an abnormally rapid pulse.

And yes, nicotine. Stress(yes, lame excuse, I know) had pushed me to buy myself a pack, and darn, I only took 2 sticks yesterday out of the entire pack. No good.

Strangely, I do not indulge in my vices often enough. Especially the first in the list. Darn.

***

Work was strange today. Don’t ask me why.

I guess too much uncertainty surrounding us.

Being an unorthodox worker, I am not sure if I am surviving well. Especially when I am such an anti-social being, contrary to what most people believe.

***

I sent out emails to my contacts to build the rapport, and sent out emails to do some enquiry.

I started on some articles.

Had lunch with my Russian colleague, Andrei(who is becoming my light in the darkness - offering me a light when we fag together once or twice a day) and Danny at KFC. I think they have this evil ploy to make me fat.

Meeting.

Edited some pictures for my articles.

Accompanied Dan to get the projector exchanged.

Got the pictures I took for the event last night to be loaded and sifted through them for those I wanna use.

Got screwed. Alas, not literally.

Stayed on in the office till 8, before I left for Tanjong Pagar, to meet up with a crazy bunch of guys.

That, disrupted my plans of an early night, to head straight home for some serious work.

Well, it was yet another birthday celebration, and for a friend who was nice to me, I couldn’t possibly not turn up.

***

Let’s rewind to 2 Sundays ago.

5th March.

2 days before your royal highness’ 25th birthday.

It was a boring evening, and I was pretty reluctant to be heading out.

Pre-birthday blues, you see.

Until, a very kind Mr Eric, who suddenly recalled(ahem, after a brief mention from me), that it was the weekend just before my birthday.

He tried persuading me to head out for dinner, which I rejected with plenty of reluctance.

Well, I didn’t need a sympathy date, you see. Hmphf.

He persisted.

He grew irritating enough for me to give in with his, ‘Oii! Don’t like that lah, come out lah!’

And so, I did.

I met up with him at IMM, and he decided to bring me to have some not-too-bad dinner.

So sweet huh, that sweetheart.

So, dinner was at this cafe Baystreet 21.

We sat by the window somehow, ya know? In full view of the public’s eyes.

And he picked the bill, in an attempt to cheer me up.

I had some sort of Indonesian food, which wasn’t too bad, really.

Denise and Alvin came down to join us, and we then adjourned to our other favourite pasttime(besides mahjong), Karaoke in Chinatown.

(I had thought we would play mahjong, ya know?!)

It was a day of songs and songs. I was under immense pressure, cos it was the first time we sang in the hall, instead of a room.

It was no wonder there were few people. Most were already running for the emergency exit the moment I sang.

The best singer of the group couldn’t wait to show his prowess(singing only, I’m afraid), and even garnered applause from another table(someone was celebrating her birthday too!).

So suave huh?

Claudia joined us after her work. The poor babe was even working on a Sunday!

Thanks darlings, you guys have been great.

My birthday for this year is that you guys would lose to me big big over the mahjong table. I don’t mind losing, but just small small, and less often than winning. Heh.

The night ended around midnight, before Alvin dropped me off at Peninsula to meet up with Roy, VampTreSS and Brian… for yet another night of intense Battlefielding.

Alas, such intense battling no longer fits into my schedule already.

Wait a minute… did Khalid just pass me a copy of Battlefield 2 and Special Forces to install in my workstation?

Ahh……

I think so.

Did I mention that the Battlefield Euro Force is out?

Ahhh….

I want to test it.

Really.

Test‘ it. ‘Review‘ it. My job, remember?

***

The intense battling lasted for 7 hours, which is pretty mild already, don’t you think?

Did some co-ordination for the IT show in the midst of the games, and I even changed in public for VampTreSS to take some pictures of me in the Lenovo gear to send to my boss.

The secret to the Lenovo tops? All of them are heavily padded. I lamented at how my tube for GP battery is not padded at all. Boohoo.

I got home at 7 in the morning on Monday, since I was off on Monday to Wednesday.

How cool is that?

How is it even possible in the near future?????

It was no wonder that I was totally zoned out by the time I reached home, and had a few hours of sleep till 3 plus, before I was roused awake by the blues, again…

Back to today, 16th March.

There are 2 babies on this day. Brian, who is faraway in Bintan enjoying himself by the sea, and the Mr Pea-cock Nice Eric.

Alvin had called me earlier to meet up since it is Eric’s 3rd(yes, his mentally is 20 years behind time) birthday, and I joined them after I finished editing some of the pictures(yes, I learn something new about Photoshop today. Yay!).

Ahem.

Let’s just say that the pictures are not for the faint hearted.

I was holding my own concert, monopolising the microphone for most of the night.

The highlight was the madness that came right after the cake was brought in as a surprise for the dude.

We were all scarlet from the alcohol by then after playing rounds of dice games.

It all started innocently when we had all the buddy-buddy shots, and we had tried our best to matchmake Claudia and Eric for a lovey-dovey picture to be taken.

See how shy they were.

Awww…

And when Claudia finally looks really sweet for a proper picture, Eric showed his true self. Looks like some dirty old man.

He was darn lucky to be surrounded by.. -cough- babes.

Why my birthday don’t have? I mean, surrounded by cute guys.

Oh I forgot, there wasn’t any.

Tsk tsk. Lucky basket.

And of course, the usual shot with the guys.

The tipsy birthday boy was mad enough to flick cigarette as into some wild concoction of beer and honey lemon drink as a forfeit for the dice game we were playing.

They(I was singing and wasn’t part of it) were disgusted by him and all refused to take part of the crazy game.

He arrogantly announced to them, ‘If anyone of you could throw a double, I would down the entire drink.’

I stood up, strutted over, picked up the 2 cubes and rolled.

Double 5!!!!!!!

We overcame the initial shock with wolf howls, and hi-fives, before laughing ourselves silly at his jinxed luck.

Of course, we didn’t have the heart to sabotage him.

Before long, it got crazier.

We tried to persuade Claudia to give him a birthday kiss, which of course, she refused. To coax her into the deed, we all agreed to give the birthday boy a kiss to egg her on.

And the rule is, everyone must stay long enough on his cheek for an evidence shot.

Muahahahahhahaha.

Ladies and gentleman..

The poor Claudia went first, and it is obvious that Denise and I decided to ‘lend a hand’ for better contact.

For the dare, we put down our pride, forsake our integrity, and went ahead.

The best part…………….

!!!!!!!!!!!

I always knew there is something about Alvin.

I am not sure why he was the most keen, he even offered his nose to Eric.

And what’s with the yin-yang fingers man?

Leslie was supposed to do it together with Alvin, but the not-so-sporting one backed out last minute.

Until….

Aww… he looks so sweet when kissing Eric!

And what’s with the look of euphoria on Eric’s face man?

Eric got such a kick from the entire thing that, before we bade goodbye to end the night, he asked for a kiss from everyone, starting from the… -gasp- guys!

Hilarious, I tell you!

This was the last decent picture of the cake, before it was slammed into our faces, hair, tops, jeans, pants, and all over the floor of the room.

Yikes!

It was pure madness.

I was covered in cream, and had chocolate all over my face. Totally awful.

The cake war was full blown when the tipsy ones aggressively attacked each and everyone of us.

We got lotsa disapproval and irritated stares and laments from the staff though. We ended up wiping the floor, cleaning up the mess for them.

Come to think of it, for the fun, it was probably worth it.

We finally called it a day at 11 plus, and shared a cab home to round off the tiring night.

Which probably, would start a long, tiring night for me instead.

Deadlines, aren’t they just the most horrible things on earth?

Darn, I wish I have such flow when writing for work, you know?
